Impromptu Christmas Party in Okinawa

Seems like Raul's coworkers had such a good time at Thanksgiving that they started inquiring about Christmas festivities and The Oteros responded with quite the feast. We're looking forward to leftovers of pernil, potato casserole, and more.

I got to meet Cathy's Peruvian Japanese friends whom I'd heard so much about. They were absolutely lovely and encouraged me to learn some Japanese while I'm here.

Just Dance

For Christmas Espe got the video game Just Dance 2. This Titi wonders who the gift was really for. Check out this video and see for yourself.

Happy B-Day

Espe started her pre-teen birthday with a swim meet and took first and second place in her events and then went off to the Round One - Indoor fun park.
LOve this place where else can you spend 3 hours for 18 dollars and let the kids go and play 'til they drop.
All the games inside are included. About 100 video-games.

Halloween in Okinawa American Style

Espe celebrated Halloween on Kadena Air Force Base with her Peruvian-OKinawan friends. Lets start with how much candy they rounded up. The girls have never trick-o-treated and were surprised and thrilled at the amount of candy that is given.

Espe dressed like a werewolf like her favorite werewolf Jacob from the Twilight movies. Emily is dressed like Alice in Wonderland and Emily is the Joker.
What a scary bunch...NOT!

Epse had a blast!

Dinner Out in Oki

American Village
Sea Side
Canals of OKinawa
Our Favorite Japanese Restaurant

Tofu Champeru - stirfry tofu with bean sprouts, scallions, rice, miso and kimchi
Okinawa Soba- consists of pork bellie, fish cakes, parsley a side of gohan which is rice, mochi which is rice jelly and pickled ginger
Espe's dinner is another OKinawa soba with gohan (rice) and gyoza (pork dumplings)
Espe has adjusted well to Okinawan and Japanese cuisine and has finally mastered the chopstick.
Vegan Dinner
I love Okinawan food.
