Kokusai Dori Street

KOKUSAI DORI STREET: (Means International Street) It is a combination of 34th Street in NYC with some of the old world shops similar to NYC's China Town. The strip runs for 1.6 km. You can find souvenirs, Japanese laquer, Kimono shops, fruit stands, bakeries etc. it also has a variety of restaurants Japanese food, Indian, Thai, Chinese as well as Mc D's and Starbucks. Espe and I had a blast.

Mochi: a glutenous rice cake. It comes in different flavors and sizes. Some are sweet, some are fruity, my favorite is green tea flavor. The bigger they are the harder they are to swallow, because of the texture.
So the smaller the better.

This weeks boyfriend..he is a real pig!!

Native to Okinawa, Sata andagi (Saataa andaagii) are sweet deep fried buns, similar to American doughnuts, but so much better. These little bundles of joy need no icing or frosting to enjoy.

Antoher thank you to the B. Family for being our tour guides in Okinawa.
Without you we would NOT have as much fun!

Soba Shop! I would tell you the name except I can't read it.

Okinawa Soba: wheat flour with flattish noodles, pork bellie (like bacon) and fish cakes (Kamaboko) made of Gurukun Fish

Slurpping noodles loudly and drinking from your bowl in Okinawa is normal practice. The kids love it!!

Okinawa Soba: That was a llong noodle to slurp.
I always get the broth on my face.

The End to a great lunch... evil fried sweet Okinawan donuts!
